Second full week of Lent

Sit down a minute,

grab a cup of tea (unless of course you are fasting from tea!)

and FEAST with me on God's food for today!

Genesis 15:15-18

15 You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age. 16 In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure."

17 When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces. 18 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates-

Luke 9:28-36
28About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. 29As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. 30Two men, Moses and Elijah, 31appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. 32Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. 33As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.)

34While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35A voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him." 36When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves, and told no one at that time what they had seen.

I am not a theologian by any means -- and I am sure there are great connectors for these passages -- we didn't discuss those. :)

We reminisced about great grandparents and how long 4 generations is (or short depends on your perspective!) Also about God's timing -- which is always perfect no matter what we think. Our foresight is very short sighted but God sees from Abraham's time to Jesus' to today and way past now.

Are we taking time to LISTEN TO HIM??? Are we TRUSTING IN HIS PLAN??

Are you? Turn off the music (computer,tv,phone etc!) and really be quiet and listen today.
Enjoy God's words and be filled by His Spirit today!
