Do you get upset with them when they chide you? In 2 Samuel 12:1-7 Nathan had to deliver Gods message to David and to risk his anger but David did the right thing and repented when confronted with the truth. Would you?
Do you have a Charlie Brown in your life? Someone who could use your encouragement?
Do you take the opportunity to bless someone else? In Romans 15:4 it says "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." Do you know the scripture well enough to give someone encouragement from it? By memory? I know that is something I need to work on.
Do you have a Lucy whom you have to deal with? Someone who gets on your nerves?
Are you patient with them, or do you have a mean retort for them when they bug you?
Paul says in Colossians 1:10-12:
10And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
I hope that this challenges you to look at the people around you and see what you can do for others and what others do for you, but most of all to see how well you know God's Word and how well you can tell others about God.
Ecclesiastes 1:13-14
I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a heavy burden God has laid on men! 14 I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
